Internistics

Within the specialist Outpatient Diabetes Clinic, patients with different types of diabetes (type 1, 2, MODY, secondary ...) and pregnant women with gestational diabetes are treated in a team setting. All patients in the outpatient clinic are, in addition to being treated by a diabetes specialist, included in health education programmes. These are performed collectively for all newly diagnosed patients and individually for all needs for additional education (change of treatment, deterioration of diabetes, chronic complications).

The Outpatient Anticoagulation Clinic administers anticoagulation treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation, venous thromboembolism or antiphospholipid syndrome and patients after insertion of artificial heart valves. The Outpatient Clinic takes place in two locations, depending on the prescribed medication (coumarins, newer anticoagulants). Patients are also involved in healthcare counselling provided by a registered nurse in order to make treatment as effective and as safe as possible.
