Radiology

The Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology deals with the diagnosis of diseases of the chest and other organs.

We use state-of-the-art X-ray machines, a multi-detector CT and an ultrasound to display different areas of the body and to display veins. We are specialists in the diagnosis of respiratory diseases and routinely perform percutaneous biopsies of the lungs, mediastinum, pleura and other organs under CT and ultrasound as well as ablation of lung tumours or microwave ablation (MWA) of metastases.

We also perform CT angiographs of the coronary and other arteries and ultrasound examinations of the abdomen, neck and soft tissues.

Modern equipment allows us to take low-dose or no-radiation (ultrasound) imaging, to post-process and store images and to view images on high-resolution screens.

In the multidisciplinary treatment of patients, we collaborate with specialists in other disciplines and with some other hospitals via video conferences.
