An event presenting the most outstanding research achievements of the University of Ljubljana in 2019
Research Achievement “Identification of bee venom Api m 1 IgE epitopes and characterization of corresponding mimotopes” was selected as one of the most distinguished by the University of Ljubljana in 2019. The Research Commission was headed by Prof. dr. Matjaž Krajnc.
The event, presenting the most outstanding research achievements, was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2 pm in the Chamber Hall of the University of Ljubljana.
Researchers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana (Abida Zahirović, Borut Štrukelj, Mojca Lunder) and the University Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases and Allergy Golnik (Ana Koren, Peter Kopač, Peter Korošec) participated in the study. The previously unknown IgE epitopes of the major bee venom allergen, Api m 1, were identified and the immunotherapeutic potential of peptides imitating these epitopes (mimotopes) was evaluated.
